What We Are Learning
Thanksgiving and Turkeys will be integrated into our units this week.
Math – we will be working on strategies to learn how to use addition and subtraction within 20 to solve word problems.
ELA – Letterland Unit 9 – the a sound in –all and review of short vowels a, e, and i.
Writing Focus will be on our turkey disguises, writing to share information and writing to work with others to create writing projects.
Social Studies – continue with describing national holidays and why they are celebrated.
PYP Unit (Who We Are) – complete this unit with a self – portrait using adjectives.
This Week in First Grade
Book Fair in Media Center
Book Fair is opened 7:00 am to 3:00 pm
Monday – Thursday.
Friday 7:00 am to noon.
Tuesday Night is Family Night from 5:00 – 6:30 pm.
Any first grade student that has money marked for Book Fair may go up to the Media Center between 1:00 – 1:30 pm to purchase books. This is our designated time. If you send in Book Fair money, please mark it for that. Tax (6.75%) will be charged on purchases. Volunteers will be in the Media Center to help your child.

Spanish Phrase of the Week is Me gustaria which means I would like.
Veterans Day Interviews were wonderful! Thanks to all that participated. We had fun learning all about Veterans that were family and friends. First Graders also got to meet a Veteran that shared her stories, medals and more!
Some of the students have said they will not be here the week of 11/20 as they are traveling for Thanksgiving. For planning purposes if your child will not be here – please let us know.
