Parent/Teacher Conferences 17 GMEF Auction – GM Fire Hall No School – Thanksgiving Break DRESS IN LAYERS: The weather changes every day and the classrooms in the school are different temperatures. Students are asked to dress in layers. Students should have sweatshirt, sweatpants, and a jacket. A hat and light weight gloves will be helpful. PICTURE RETAKES are Tuesday, Oct Please return all previous pictures, uncut. AR TREATS: If you would like to donate AR treats that would be wonderful. Please be sure the treat are individually wrapped. Students receive a treat with a passing score of 80 or more. (We read and test whether we have treats or not.) Thank you!! GINGERBREAD HOUSES: The custom of building gingerbread houses comes from Germany. When the second grade studies different holidays around the world, the second grade builds gingerbread houses. Each child is asked to have an adult help them construct their gingerbread houses. The is adult may be a mom, dad, grandpa, grandma, aunt, uncle, etc. The day we build the gingerbread houses will be on Friday, November 30th. We are letting people know in case people need to take the day off. More information about the gingerbread houses will come at a later date. If you can not make it that day, please let us know. We have many community people that love coming in to help with this project. PARENT-TEACHER CONFERENCES will be Monday, November 12 from 4:00-8:00 pm and Thursday, November 15 from 4:00-8:00 pm. Please sign up using the slip that came home, or go online to the school web gm.k12.mn.us. Scroll down to the very bottom on the left hand side. Click on Elementary Parent Teacher Conference Scheduler. HALLOWEEN PARTIES: Our Party will be Wednesday , October 31 starting at 1:00. Please let us know if you would like to help. We are having our parties separate from each other. Mrs. Hanken’s helpers-Laura Brandenburg, Jane Brogan and Sara Unverzagt. Mrs. Goergen’s helpers: Sara Westphal, Ashley Warner, and Jessica Fretty. PARTY MONEY: We have three class parties throughout the school year: Halloween, Christmas, and Valentines. We are asking each student to bring in $2 per party to help pay for food and prizes. If you would like to send in a total of $6 to cover the whole year, that would be wonderful. Thank you to everyone that has turned in their money. GRAND MEADOW EDUCATION FOUNDATION (GMEF) FUNDRAISER will be on Saturday, November 17 at the Grand Meadow Fire Hall. Free Daycare (4:00-10:00 pm) in the SAC Room in the Elementary Dome for those who would like to attend the auction. Silent Auction from 4:00-6:30 pm Live Action 7:00 pm Live 4:00 pm by Chris Rollo
