Classroom News! Aug 29th- Sept 2nd Mrs. Angie Kraje + A peek at the week Mark your calendar Superkids: Unit 1 Week 2 Fluency: Ms. Blossom’s Flag Reading & Grammar: pattern words th & wh, onomatopoeia, contractions, types of sentences and end punctuation, apostrophes, homonyms, and discuss puns. Writing: Use capitalization rules and periods, edit and correct misspellings. Write two sentences using don’t and won’t. Math: Topic 1: Understanding Addition and Subtraction Topic 2: Addition Strategies Social Studies: Citizenship: School Rules & Bus Safety. August 29th – PALS Testing Begins September 5th – NO School (Labor Day) September 8th – Donuts for Dad (8-9 am) Volunteer Breakfast (9-10 am) A Note from Your Teacher Snack Reminders: We have snack every day and a healthy snack is helpful to keep all of our minds working until lunch time. Please, only finger foods (snacks that can be eaten without utensils) and no candy, doughnuts, messy chips such as cheetos, doritos etc. Often students are eating snacks while completing seatwork. We allow water bottles in the classroom, but only those with a pop-top and nothing but water inside. Upcoming tests & assignments Superkids- Spelling- Unit 1 Week 2- Friday September 2nd Math- Topic 1 Test- Wednesday August 31st (subject to change) Reminder: Reading Log is due (with parent signature) every Friday! Website of the Week IXL~ IXL is a comprehensive, standards-aligned math and language arts practice program offering unlimited problems in thousands of skills. One of the best things about IXL is that you may use it from school and from home! Username is the Student’s ID # and the password is “bnes”.

Writing: Edit sentences for capitalization, spelling, and punctuation. Math: Topic 1: Understanding Addition and Subtraction Topic 2: Addition Strategies Social Studies: Citizenship: School Rules & Bus Safety.
