Reading & Read, Write Inc.
Grouped according to phonic understanding Reassessed every 6 weeks (end of half term) Reading at home will be Oxford Reading Tree to allow children to read a range of texts Read 3 times – tricky words, comprehension, expression Books will be changed weekly- Friday Comment in Reading Records Assessed by teacher regularly

Challenge Approach Teaches children to be reflective and assess their own understanding on a daily basis Challenges can be directed or flexible Three levels of challenge Children are given a challenge to complete for each task

Homework Same as in Reception, children need to do homework to consolidate their learning. 7 Topic based assignments and 7 Maths based assignments to choose from. Choose 4 from each. 10 house points for every piece of completed homework. Bring in every couple of weeks, we will return by the end of the week if in early.

PE Please bring PE kits on a Monday and take them home on a Friday.
PE will be on a Tuesday, but we will also do another hour of PE during the week. PE is statutory so written letter from parent needs to be provided to excuse children from PE for medical reasons. Please name all items of uniform and PE kit.

Home/School Contact Book
Anyone collecting other than parent Message can be left with office for emergency changes If we do not have a record of the change, the child will remain in school while we contact a parent for confirmation

Spellings Spellings will take place every Tuesday afternoon.

Rewards House points Learning Champions- Danny Determination, Colin Curiosity, Izzy Independence and Chole Communication. Golden Time

Parent helpers on trips
Must be DBS checked with Eaton Primary. If you would like to come we can complete a DBS, please see our Business Manager to complete this. You will not be able to attend without a DBS.
