4 Love is occupied w/ others
 Barnabas was occupied with interest in & concern for others. Ministered to the saints (Acts 4:36-37) Raised the status of Saul (Acts 11:19-25) The “son of encouragement”

5 Controlling Selfishness
Compassion controls selfishness For a lame man (John 5:42-44) Humility & Gratitude controls selfishness Lowliness of mind (Phil 2:3-5) Consolation, Comfort, Fellowship, Affection & Mercy found in Christ (Phil 2:1-2)

6 “The reason my Father loves me is that I lay down my life” (John 10:17)
God wants children who will unselfishly lay down their lives for Him.
