2. History
A long time ago most people thought that the earth was a flat circle. But Plato knew that the earth was a sphere. Earth got its name from old English and Germany.

Earth is the 3rd planet in the solar system. It is 93.2 million miles away from the sun. It takes at least days for it to orbit the sun. It takes hours for it to rotate.

Earth has only one moon. This moon is called Luna. There were 110 missions to the moon. The first mission there was on July Earth next to the moon

5. Planet appearance
Earth is mostly blue with big chunks of green also known as land. It looks like a marbled design planet. Earth is sometimes called Blue planet because of the water. Earth has morning and night because Earth spins. Earth also have seasons because Earth is tilted.

Earth has no rings. But it does have an atmosphere that protects it.

70% of Earth is water. Earth’s mass is about kg. Earth is estimated to be 3-5 Billion years old. The area of earth is 200 million square miles. Earth is kind of similar to Mercury, Venus, and Mars. They are both rocky planets. Earth is the only planet with life and water in liquid form.
