10 MAIN TASKS AND ADDED VALUE
1. Develop and share scientific and technical expertise/support Strong collaboration with our Brazilian colleagues Give additional international exposure to the work done in Brazil 2. Conduct fundamental research on the assessment and course of social-emotional skill development from childhood to young adulthood Natural course and formative studies Several in the pipeline now, e.g. MySKILLS 3. Contribute to innovation (in a broad sense) Key principles: Cross-cultural and transdisciplinary focus Policy relevance and implementation in Brazil Bottom-up: with education stakeholders (teachers, students, …) Preparatory step for “Science in Action” (see also EduLab21’s structure)

11 MySKILLS PROJECT Formative assessment and intervention tool that pupils and teachers can use in the classroom to start an individual exchange between pupil and teacher on the development of social-emotional skills. Individual student and the teacher provide independent ratings on the MySKILLS’ set. Hands-on instrument, printable on one A4-page, easy to administer, and perceived as challenging and entertaining. Develop feedback methodology on how to work with this tool. Director/professor project in Ceara; MySKILLS will rely on taxonomic work of social-emotional skills. Small scale effect evaluation.
