7. Have students work in groups of 2
Have students work in groups of 2. If there is an odd number, there can be 1 group of 3. Instruct students to work quickly, having 1 student toss and the other record. Then BOTH students should have their own worksheet and should answer the questions on the right. After groups seem to be finishing, stop them and hopefully all groups at least got in 25 tosses.

8. Have all groups raise their hands and tell you their fraction of total sides out of 25. Put the paper under the doc cam and record their data. Have students use their calculators to find the whole class #Ends and the percent.

9. Two trials are not enough to give a good estimate of chances … Kalvin needs to toss the paper cup many times to make a good estimate.
The BIG IDEA here is to make sure students understand that the more data collected, the more accurate the predictions/results.
