Realistic: Art that shows a recognizable subject as the eye sees it. Abstract: Art based on a subject you can identify, but some details are left out. Non-objective: Art that does not resemble a recognizable subject.

What is a kaleidoscope? a toy consisting of a tube containing mirrors and pieces of colored glass or paper, whose reflections produce changing patterns that are visible through an eyehole when the tube is rotated.

Our project: Using our names, we will create an abstract piece of art that resembles a kaleidoscope. First, practice writing your name in bubble letters in your sketchbook. Be creative!

If we were to mount your artwork with a ½ inch border on every side, what size paper would we need for the background?
