Does the amount of water affect the growth of the plant?
Name Date Period Page Scientific Variables Essential Questions: What are factors that make an experiment valid? Questions Claims and Evidence What are the things kept the same? (Control) What is being changed? (Independent variable) What was the scientific problem? What makes an experiment valid? (True) Reflection: (Summarize what you have learned so far that makes an experiment valid.) The same plant, location and the amount of light being received. The amount of water each plant receives is being changed. Does the amount of water affect the growth of the plant? You can only change or test one variable at a time?

How can you distinguish the difference between an independent
Name Date Period Page Scientific Variable Essential Questions: How can you distinguish the difference between an independent Variable and a dependent variable? Questions Claims and Evidence What do you call the variable you change? What is the purpose of a control? What procedures were given for the independent variable? What was the dependent variable in the experiment? Reflection: (Write down several things you learned that make an independent variable different from a dependent variable) Independent variable These factors have to be kept the same for the experiment to be true. Water one plant every other day an another every day? The growth of the plant would be the dependent variable based on the amount of water recieved.
