10. (2Co 11:13-15) For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.

Satan gets a synagogue. (Rev. 2:9) This refers to the system of religion. That doesn’t speak of a physical building
Next Satan has a seat in that that synagogue.(Rev. 2:13a) This refers to him taking control and leadership of this system.

15. (Gen 12:1-2) Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father's house, unto a land that I will shew thee: And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing:

16. (Gen 12:6) And Abram passed through the land unto the place of Sichem, unto the plain of Moreh. And the Canaanite was then in the land.

17. (Gen 15:13-14) And he said unto Abram, Know of a surety that thy seed shall be a stranger in a land that is not theirs, and shall serve them; and they shall afflict them four hundred years; And also that nation, whom they shall serve, will I judge: and afterward shall they come out with great substance.

18. (Num 13:1-2) And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, Send thou men, that they may search the land of Canaan, which I give unto the children of Israel: of every tribe of their fathers shall ye send a man, every one a ruler among them.

20. (Gen 6:1-4) And it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born unto them, That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose. And the LORD said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years. There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown.

21. (Deu 7:1-3) When the LORD thy God shall bring thee into the land whither thou goest to possess it, and hath cast out many nations before thee, the Hittites, and the Girgashites, and the Amorites, and the Canaanites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites, seven nations greater and mightier than thou; And when the LORD thy God shall deliver them before thee; thou shalt smite them, and utterly destroy them; thou shalt make no covenant with them, nor shew mercy unto them: Neither shalt thou make marriages with them; thy daughter thou shalt not give unto his son, nor his daughter shalt thou take unto thy son.

22. (Jos 9:15-16) And Joshua made peace with them, and made a league with them, to let them live: and the princes of the congregation sware unto them. And it came to pass at the end of three days after they had made a league with them, that they heard that they were their neighbours, and that they dwelt among them.

These are the years that are between the Old and New testaments. Starting with the end of the prophet Malachi to the start of John the Baptist

Once again Satan uses this time period to work through these gentile Nations in order to come against God’s plan.
What Satan did during those 400 years rock the world so greatly the world has never gotten over it.
By the time Christ is born the nation of Israel is under the mighty hand of Rome. Rome is used to try to kill Christ at his birth, they crucify him and did much damage to the church in the early days.
They destroyed the city of jerusalem in A.D. 70

30. NOTES
As much damage as Rome did to the cause of Christ it pales in comparison to what the Grecian empire did!
What the Roman empire was Militarily and politically. The Grecian empire was philosophically and intellectually.
We are still dealing with the influence of the Greeks in our lives and in our churches in 2008
