Challenge Challenge your reader to think.
However, they should be thinking about the insightful nature of your comment – not thinking and trying to figure out what you meant. Not everything on TV is worth watching; stop and think before wasting time.

Encourage Encourage your reader to take action, relate to, or learn from your story. When adults witness young children making a dangerous or unusual decision, it is the adults responsibility to redirect the children.

Theme Have a central message or lesson learned.
What significance and/or perspective can be deduced from the two events? Make sure the reader understands why the events are important.
