The Huns attacked Rome, Byzantium, and then India. This weakened the Indian empire so much that it crumbled apart again.

For hundreds of years after the Huns, India was divided into smaller kingdoms that constantly fought with each other, experienced droughts, floods, famine, and diseases that killed thousands.
