Basic DRILL training lesson 1 – AIM AND PURPOSE OF DRILL

Before we begin… In the event of an emergency, please leave by the nearest exit quickly and quietly and go to the muster point, where a nominal roll will be taken.

INTRODUCTION The aim of this lesson is for you to learn the aim and purpose of drill. This will help you to pass your basic drill and turnout The reason why you need to know this is so that you understand why you are doing drill

a) To produce a cadet who is alert and obedient

The PURPOSE of Drill

a) To ENABLE BODIES OF CADETS TO BE MOVED EASILY AND QUICKLY FROM POINT TO POINT IN AN ORDERLY MANNER

b) Encourage cadets to hold themselves properly, developing lungs and muscles

c) It is the foundation of military discipline
