The desperation of those trapped in a burning building is similar to the situation of souls perishing in sin. Cries for help must be answered by those who can lead the lost to safety and salvation. Rescuers must be able to identify the ones who need help.

3. Who needs our help to be rescued by the Gospel?
Anyone who doesn’t want to burn in the fire!
Anyone who hasn’t obeyed the gospel!
The Lord Jesus will come “from heaven with His mighty angels, in flaming fire taking vengeance on those who do not know God, and on those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.” (2 Thessalonians 1:7-8)
The gospel must be obeyed because the gospel saves! (Romans 1:16)

4. “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace, who bring glad tidings of good things!” (Romans 10:15)

5. Who needs our help to be rescued by the Gospel?
Relatives (Acts 10-11)
Close Friends
Good religious people of all races (Acts 8 & 10)
False teachers and deceivers (Acts 8:9-13)
Idolaters (Acts 17:22-31)
The immoral and unrighteous (1 Corinthians 6:9-11; 15:1-4; Acts 18:18)
All who have sinned (Romans 3:23; 6:23)

6. Will you meet a person this week who doesn’t need the gospel?
Every lost soul is like a child crying out “come help us, the fire is at the back door.”
“And on some have compassion, making a distinction; but others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire, hating even the garment defiled by the flesh.” (Jude 22-23)
Ultimately it is “Jesus who delivers us from the wrath to come” (1 Thessalonians 1:10b)
