4. Table Top Photosynthesis
Clear your table of all materials.
No pens or pencils.

5. Step 1
Make 6 molecules of CO2 on your desk. You will need 6 white Carbons and 12 red O’s.

6. Now we’re going to “water” our plant…
Make 6 molecules of H2O on your desk. You will need 12 blue H’s and 6 red O’s from your bag.

7. Congratulations! Your Plant Now Has Enough CO2 and Water to Photosynthesize! Let’s use our chloroplasts and sunlight for energy to make this process happen!

Try to “photosynthesize” again on your own. Work with your partner until you’ve got it. You may have to do this in an exit slip…

10. Table Top Photosynthesis Summary
Practice with your partner until you can do it on your own!
Make 6 molecules of CO2 and 6 molecules of H20.
Use those rays of sunlight to transform the molecules in photosynthesis!
Make one glucose molecule with oxygen leftover.
