2. Birth Defect Unit
Students will be placed in pairs and assigned a birth defect topic.
Projects for the unit will include a multimedia presentation, poster, and oral class report..
A final test will be given at the end of the unit. Each group will write 2 test questions from their report.

3. Criteria to be included in each project:
Identify the assigned BIRTH DEFECT.
Determine the CAUSE: environmental, heredity, or a combination of several factors.
CHARACTERTICS of the birth defect.
TREATMENTS or PREVENTIONS for the birth defect.
VISUALS related to the birth defect.

4. Good Luck. . . You will become an expert on one specific birth defect.
You will learn about several different birth defects through listening to and viewing other student’s projects.
Reports will help you be aware of the importance of good, and early,prenatal care.
