Why use this instead of google? Removes the “fluffy” stuff- no buzzfeed, redit, wikipedia, blogs, USA Today, mainstream news reports, “fake” news, etc. “related articles” links If you log in you can created a database of articles and citations Research on the Web- Google Scholar

Google Scholar What is still problematic about this as a search tool?
YOU need to distinguish between articles, reviews, books, abstracts, etc. May not give you full access to full documents Need to be very focused in your search terms to narrow down results Google Scholar

I recommend using Academic Search Complete and/or ERIC. Look for “full text” articles only. Define the publication time period (past 25 years? Or older?).

If you are enrolled in On-Ramps History and have access to UT library systems!!! Helloooo USE THAT. The PCL is a fantastic resource. Plan a research day there! Downtown public library Ask a libraryian at any library you go to for help! That is their job, they are research experts! Other Options- IRL
