Different types of leadership styles:
Charismatic – sensitive to the environments and to the needs of the their collaborators, are well placed to articulate their vision and strategy. Transactional – Rewarding or punishing those according to how they carry out their tasks and their level of performance Transformational – They try and project a compelling vision of the future, encourage everyone to embrace the objectives, setting the bar high for performance, supporting individuals and small teams, they offer intellectual impetuses Servant leader – Strong aptitude for persuasion, vision and guidance of people, he/she serves the organisation and the people who belong to it. They listen and help individuals and team achieve their maximum potential Situational View leader – This one where leaders adapt their style to bring about the best results. There is a strong emphasis on Emotional Intelligence, this is the capacity and ability to be sensitive to their own emotions and those people they collaborate with, and to recognise and appreciate those feelings as a source of energy, connection and influence among people.

Coercive: Lays down the law. (Law. Military. Emergencies) gets immediate results Authoritative: Strives towards moving a team towards a vision. Allows team to choose appropriate methods for realising the vision Affiliative: Places people at the centre of every action at all times. This facilitates interpersonal connections and builds relationships amongst collaborators. Team Spirit Democratic Style: Group participation in decision making, generating consensus, fostering a sense of responsibility. Good way if the team are experts and the leader can manoeuvre the team but needs to lead well. Pacesetting Style – oriented towards excellence. High personal goals and sets high standards, challenges themselves and people, works well with high performing competent teams, individuals and is highly motivated. Coaching Style: Focuses on personal growth rather than tasks at hand, when a team has limitations and needs time and wants to learn and improve. Can be problematic when deadlines are set and the team resists change
