Aim: Most objects in the solar system are in regular and predictable motion. Objective: Explain complex phenomena such as variations in day length, duration of insolation, apparent motion and seasons. Do Now: What is the difference in the sun’s altitude between December and June in the Northern hemisphere? Why?

Because of Earth’s 23.5o tilt on it’s axis, the sun will be higher in the sky in June than it is in December.
