(a) In mouse T cells, SATB1 activates expression of Th2 cytokines after TCR activation (Gottimukkala et al., 2016; Hwang et al., 2017). (b) In normal human T cells, TCR and IL-4 activation increase SATB1 expression, which inhibits Th2 cytokine expression (Ahlfors et al., 2010; Lund et al., 2005). (c) In mycosis fungoides cells, SATB1 expression is negatively regulated by the activation of the Jak3/Stat5 pathway through miR-155 (Fredholm et al., 2018). (d) In cutaneous anaplastic large cell lymphoma, SATB1 is expressed after promoter demethylation, which is associated with Th17 polarization (Sun et al. 2018). miR, micro RNA; Th, T helper.
