2. Phonics Homework Refer to Phonics Booklets
Encourage your child to look and say individual sounds.
Ask your child to practise writing sounds.
As children learn new sounds encourage them to build words using all sounds learned so far.

3. Maths Homework Maths homework will be issued throughout the year.
The following would be very beneficial for your child:
Practising number formation – writing numbers
Recognising numbers
Playing number games such as snap
Counting 0 – 20, forwards and backwards
Discussing 2D and 3D shape properties
Talking about days of the week and months of the year

4. Specialist Subjects
Please wear a polo shirt on gym days, no shirts and ties. You will be informed of the change in gym days at the start of Term 2

5. General Information
Please put snacks in school bags, not in lunch boxes
Please send a named water bottle with your child everyday
We only allow water to be drunk in class. Please provide a drink in lunch boxes in addition to water bottles
Please ensure all your child’s belongings and uniform are clearly labelled with name and class
Please check your child’s homework diary every night and remove relevant letters
Please write any notes from home in the diary
