"Be ready for an emotional ride. Move in day was harder than I expected. Most important is be ready to let go and let your son or daughter make their own choices. Take a step back and let them be independent with you in the wings ready to help if asked and needed. Set clear expectations-- study habits & grades, money, dining plan, drinking, when to check in, etc."

In the academic year, 148 first-year students were found responsible for violating the Student Code of Conduct (13.8% of the first-year class) Of those 148 students, 21 went through the process again. 62% of our first-year students described themselves as non-drinkers.

"Hearing officer was very polite and explained the situation and process very well. I did not feel uncomfortable at any point." "Everything went really smoothly and I appreciated the fact that I was able to share my side of the incident in a friendly, yet serious environment." "I have certainly learned from this experience. Although I was found responsible, it was of course my own fault and the sanctions imposed by WIT were very fair and I definitely learned my lesson from them."
