We use superlative adjectives to compare three or more people or things.

3. Superlative Adjectives
We usually add the before the adjective and add –est to it to form a superlative adjective.
fast
the fastest
slow
the slowest

4. Superlative Adjectives
We change y to i for most adjectives that end in y.
healthy
the healthiest
heavy
the heaviest

5. Superlative Adjectives
We double the last letter for most adjectives if the second last letter is a, e, i, o or u.
fat
the fattest
fit
the fittest
