Our mission is (read mission)… We must remind ourselves that the children of today will be the citizens of the Carbondale area. And we want them to be prepared to be good citizens.

National statistics tell us that between the hours of 3 pm and 7 pm Juvenile crime escalates.
And 3 out of 10 children will not graduate on time.
But we are encouraged because there are boys and girls clubs in all 50 sates as well as Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands serving children.

In these clubs serve 4 million kids are served by 276,00 staff and volunteers.
62% of the alums of B & G Clubs say that their experience in the club helped the them commit to their education.

Take this information and share it with others. So many people do not know just how much we offer at BGCC. As you have learned today it is so much more than a recreation center.
Volunteer – we need people to work directly with children but we also need volunteers to swerve on committees and help with fund raising.
We need supplies – there is a list on our web page.
And of course we need money.
