You want to use a formal register.
To know what is expected for the literature circles. To understand how to carry out the literature circles for Thursday and Friday. To be able to carry out a practice literature circles So you will be given roughly min to read and analyze a short story on your own. If you’re late for class, then you’re late for your reading and analysis of the short story. You want to use a formal register.

What literary lens can you apply to Shirley Jackson’s “The Lottery”
For homework, I want you to read Shirley Jackson’s “The Lottery” and answer the questions. These questions will help you for the test next week. Have you read this story before? Look up these words for homework: Androgyny Écriture féminine Essentialism Patriarchy Gynocentrics Phallologocentrism -You should only write 2-3 sentences per definition.

Gynocentric – Focusing on a feminin point-of-view or interests.
Phallogocentrism– Focusing on masculinity in order to create meaning. Écriture féminine – From French feminism, it is the focus on language and structural devices that women writers employ in their writing. Essentialism – Discusses that everything has specific traits. For example, women have certain traits and men have certain traits if we are focusing on the feminist lens.
