1 Station 1: Syllabus Scavenger Hunt
Directions: In your group, use the syllabus to answer as many questions as possible to earn the greatest number of points possible. Different questions are worth different point values and you do not have to answer the questions in order. The group with the highest score will receive a prize. When you are finished or when time is up, place your completed scavenger hunt with all of your group members’ names in the class inbox at the box. Don’t forget to take a copy of the syllabus for yourself!

2 Station 2: Goal Setting Directions: Fill in at least one goal for this year and for your future (10 years from now). Then cut out your thought bubbles, glue them together (small dots of glue; don’t overdo it), and decorate as desired. We will hang these in the classroom as reminders of what you want to do this year and beyond. When you are finished or when time is up, place your completed thought bubble on the AC Tower by the windows.

3 Station 3: Independent Novel Choices
Directions: You will be reading these novels as part of class and your homework. Rank these choices from 1 (most desired) to 5 (least desired). To make your decisions, look at the front and back covers and read a page or two of the book. When you are finished or when time is up, place your completed ranking in the folder.

4 Station 4: In A Perfect World…
Directions: On the chart paper provided, describe what the perfect school, classroom, teacher, and student would be like. You may write complete sentences, short phrases or words, or draw images as part of your description. (1-2 ideas per team)

6 Station 6: Quiz Your Classmates
Directions: Use these questions to get to know your classmates. Some questions will require responses from all group members and some questions will only require a response from one group member. When you are finished or when time is up, place your completed “quiz” in your folder for class discussion later!
