satan still had their minds captive.

5. Why were their eyes prevented from recognizing?
Their hope was placed in the wrong person, place or thing.
Roman deliverance vs deliverance from sin.
They had to “let go” in order to “take up.”

6. Why were their eyes prevented from recognizing?
They were yet to believe in the risen, crucified Son of God.
Purpose of resurrection appearances.
To replace doubts with faith.

Phillipians 3:8-11

7. Has Christ become personal to you yet?
God was speaking. Verses 27-28, 32.
They wanted more of Jesus. Verse 29.
Verses 30-31, their eyes were opened.
Keep pressing into Jesus.
