AMNIOTIC FLUID AND UMBLICAL CORD
Presented by Sr. Bindhu K.V 1st Year MSc(N) FMCON
4
ORIGIN Transudate from the maternal serum across the memberane.
Transudate from the umblical cord or from the fetal circulation or secretion from amniotic epithelium. Transudate of fetal plasma. Contribution from fetus.
5
VOLUME 50ml at 12 week 400ml at 20 week 1liter at 36-38 week
at term 200ml at 43 week
6
CIRCULATION Water in amniotic fluid completely changed and replaced every 3 hours. Fluid is swallowed by fetus passes from gut in to fetal plasma
