To accurately and fairly evaluate the players hockey ability and place him/her at the appropriate team and level where they will develop the best. 1. 3 3

Evaluation Process for 2018
We hold closed evaluations
No parents or relatives will be allowed in the arena with the exception of parent coaches and parent support staff assisting with the execution of evaluations
1st day, players need to trade in their Pod jersey for an evaluation jersey (Reversible)
Please have the POD jersey washed!
Players will keep the eval jersey during the entire process 4

5. ACYHA PeeWee Evaluation
Evaluation Process for 2018
Players will need to remove any stickers on their helmets that are not ACYHA, JJ or Humboldt related. ( i.e. Wings or number)
Players will need to wear a pair of matching hockey socks, red breezers and white helmet during evals
Please make sure your son or daughter have their jerseys and equipment before leaving for the rink
We will check each player’s number and color before each session
We will have a parent (SafeSport certified) in the locker room ½ hour before and 15 minutes after each eval session 5

2018 Evaluation Structure:
Day 1: Mon., Oct. 1st (Plan posted on website)
Both sessions will be mixed skill level divided by birthdate
Full ice drills focusing on skating, stickhandling, shooting
Small Area Games
Players will be placed in *Upper/Lower* groups after Day 1. Approx skaters per group. Groups and session times will be posted on the website as soon as results are tallied each evening after sessions. *Groups will only be labeled Red and Blue*

SKATING
Use and control of both inside and outside edges.
Proper knee bend and leg extension.
Backwards, back straight and good balance.
Crossovers in both directions.
Speed and agility.
Stops, changes direction and transitions effectively in both directions.
OFFENSIVE SKILLS
Accurate giving and receiving of passes.
Accurate and hard shot.
Pushes puck in open ice, stick handles effectively in traffic.
Uses body to protect puck.
Effective scorer and playmaker.
DEFENSIVE SKILLS
Gap control for defensemen.
Protects the middle of the ice.

Must attend all sessions unless excused because of injury, illness or conflict; Coordinator must be notified ahead of time with as much advance notice as possible.
Good behavior - Inappropriate conduct on or off the ice could affect a player’s score and team placement
Parents
Should NOT approach or talk to Evaluators before or after evaluation sessions
All communication should be done through the Coordinators 18
