3 How to Establish Biblical Authority
“Speak where the bible speaks and be silent where the bible is silent.” “Though it is a biblical principle, it is not a bible phrase.”

4 How to Establish Biblical Authority
The Lord’s Supper Express Command: “This do in remembrance of Me.” 1 Corinthians 11:23-24 Approved Example: “And upon the first day of the week, when the disciples came together to break bread.” Acts 20:7 Necessary Inference: “The first day of the week…to break bread.” Means as regularly as the day comes COMPARE “The Sabbath day…to keep it holy.” HOW OFTEN? Expediency: ANY HOUR WITHIN THE FIRST DAY OF THE WEEK.

5 “The clear, unmistakable import of the language used necessarily implies that they observed the Lord's Supper upon the first day of the week as regularly as that day came. We have here a comparison between the command for the observance of the Sabbath and the observance of the Lord's Supper upon the first day of the week. If ‘...the Sabbath day, to keep it holy,’ meant every Sabbath day as regularly as it came, then ‘the first day of the week to break bread’ means every first day of the week as regularly as it comes.” -Roy E. Cogdill November 18, 1957

(6) "In all places where I have walked with all Israel, have I spoken a word with any of the judges of Israel, whom I commanded to shepherd My people, saying, 'Why have you not built for Me a house of cedar?‘”

11 God’s Answer 1 Chronicles 17: “When your days are fulfilled that you must go to be with your fathers, that I will set up one of your descendants after you, who will be of your sons; and I will establish his kingdom. (12) "He shall build for Me a house, and I will establish his throne forever.”
