MLA Bibliography: The Works Cited Page
2
Source citation: why & how?
Recognize the intellectual property of others. Avoid plagiarism and academic censure. Keep track of information needed for the bibliography as you do the research. Cite the source of any borrowed information, even if you paraphrase or summarize it. Use in-text citation to cite the source within the text of your essay. Provide full bibliographic information on your Works Cited page.
3
Rules for your MLA bibliography
The title is Works Cited. List all sources in alphabetical order by the first word in the citation. Double space the entire Works Cited page. Use a hanging indent for each citation: 1st line of each entry is flush left and succeeding lines are indented 5 spaces. Carefully check the MLA Handbook or other reliable source to format each type of citation.
