Standards for Prom Attire

2. Why do we have a dress code?
SHS staff and administration want you to make good choices. We are not trying to inhibit your style.
Prom should be fun, but we want everyone to be comfortable and safe.
With modesty in mind, the following dress code guidelines will be enforced at the Shroder High School Prom

3. BOYS FORMAL ATTIRE
Formal prom attire may be classified as a tuxedo or dress suit, including a tie, bow tie, a turtle neck, a shirt, which may include a vest or cummerbund. Shirts are to be worn at all times. Dress shoes or dress boots must be worn while in any public building. Tennis shoes, Timberland type boots, and athletic shoes are unacceptable.

14. No cover-ups (coats, shawls, sweaters) will be allowed over dresses that do not meet dress code.
Prom Pictures
Dress for picture taken at the dance must also meet dress code. You may not wear an inappropriate dress to take pictures and then change into one that does meet code for the dance.

15. While we will be reasonable in our interpretation of these guidelines, we want you to know that you will not be allowed to enter the dance if you are dressed inappropriately and there is no refund of the ticket cost.
Most importantly, this dress code does not limit your ability to show your style and uniqueness.

Prom Promise
The Prom Promise is becoming a life saving tradition. In essence, it's a promise made to your family, your school and your friends. Wherein you commit not to drink and drive.
