3. Let’s begin with our story area!
This is where our easy reader and fiction story books are located. These are in alphabetical order by the author’s last name. Look for the props for clues as to where books might be located!

5. Stories and more stories!
This is where we read stories to our Kindergarten and First grade classes. The children know that when they first come in, they must sit on the rug. This routine is established at the beginning of school. All classes are invited for special stories during holidays and special events.

6. Take a look at our non fiction books.
The Dewey Decimal Classification is a way to shelve books according to their subject matter. It is kind of like a book’s address.
These books are shelved
by their call number. We use the
Dewey Decimal Classification.

7. The Reference section is used for research projects.
These books cannot be checked out, but can be used in the media center.

We can also access the Internet to aid in research projects.
