Students will create a stack of review cards along with a two-pocket portfolio. The portfolio pockets will be labeled as “noun” and “verb.” The students will define each of the classifications. Then, the review cards, with text and graphics, will list specific items which students will classify as being either a noun or verb by placing them in the appropriate portfolio pockets. Students will then trade their portfolios for further practice in classifying nouns and verbs.
First, students will insert their own names in the appropriate space by triple-clicking on the name placeholder then typing their names.
Next, students will create the title page for the portfolio by modifying the existing WordArt title placeholder and inserting appropriate clip art.
Then, students will label each pocket of the portfolio by modifying the existing WordArt titles.
Students will define each of the titles by triple-clicking and inserting text into the definition placeholders beneath the titles.
Point out that the pocket titles must be turned upside down and show students how to turn a title upside down by using the green rotation handle.
On slide two of the template students will begin making their study cards to place in the pocket portfolios.
They will create a review card by dragging clip art into the square.
Next, insert WordArt to give the name of the item.
They will repeat steps 7-8 for the remainder of the open squares on slide two then all of slide three. This should make twelve cards in all
