cardiomyopathy (ARVC)-continuum in relation to exercise dose Figure 6 | Proposed arrhythmogenic right ventricular cardiomyopathy (ARVC)-continuum in relation to exercise dose. Patients with classic, nonexercise-related ARVC and patients with a gene-elusive ARVC (or ARVC-like) cardiomyopathy (CM) in which exercise has a central aetiological role represent the two extremes of this continuum. Variable degrees of exercise and genetic susceptibility would contribute to intermediate forms of the disease. An overview of the most representative studies supporting the role of exercise in the development of ARVC are shown. Negative studies are not shown because they would largely vary depending on the outcome considered (clinical, morphological, and electrophysiological). RV, right ventricular. Guasch, E. & Mont, L.
