Where did the name Awana come from?
Awana™ is an International children's Bible club, it's name is from 2 Timothy 2:15 Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. The name Truth and Training reflects the passion of Awana to teach 3rd-6th grade boys and girls with the truth of God's Word and to train them to follow Christ in their daily lives. White Book page 1

T&T Handbook Info Awana homework Parents help kids study for: Answering one Bible Study question, Reciting one Bible verse from memory. Your leader can give 2 helps per verse (one help is 2-3 words to help start reciting) Parents initials = double points White Book page 1

Only use positive words No negative actions (hitting, temper, etc.) Use indoor voices (no yelling) Don’t bring food, candy, gum, drink inside, Ask leader for permission to leave your group. Never leave Church grounds without Parent

Behavior Timeouts at Awana
Group - Awana 5 Count For Group count 1-5 Quiet (expected by 3) before 5 Leader or Director uses for quiet Given to one child only by Director. Individual - Awana 3 Count Strike 1- Timeout (away for 5 min.) , Strike 2- sit out from entire group activity, Strike 3- Commander calls parent to go home. White Book page 2
