2 Definition Imitation of a work of literature, art, or music. A parody often achieves its humorous effect through the use of exaggeration or mockery (sardonic tone). E.g. “My Mistress’ Eyes are nothing like the sun” “The Nymph’s Reply to the Shepherd”
