First Day of Kindergarten
Everyone has a first day When they feel sad and all alone. It can be scary when you are on your own, And I know that a first day Can be full of doubts and fears. But they are full of new beginnings Take my hankie, dry your tears. You’ll find lots of things to do, And you’ll probably make new friends. I promise we’ll be together When the school day ends. Here comes the teacher. Blow your nose and be brave. Come on now and wipe your eyes. This is no way to behave! Well, Good Morning, Teacher! We really do beg your pardon. No, Mommy doesn’t always act this way, But it’s my first day of Kindergarten!

Be sure to complete your online paperwork in ParentVue ASAP. Tomorrow your child will receive a lanyard with a name tag. Please have your child wear this lanyard during the entire first week of school. You will also see a green bus tag on your child’s backpack on the first week of school. Please keep it on the backpack all year. This communicates to transportation and school staff how your child rides to and from school.
4
Transportation If there is a change in transportation, you MUST send a note or call the school immediately. We cannot place a child on a different bus or send home with anyone else without written notification. This applies to ALL playdates!
5
Attendance Daily punctual attendance is important for school success.
Avoid the chaos of the car pool line by putting your child on the bus. Students who are late due to the car pool line are marked tardy. Children that ride a bus that arrives late are NEVER marked tardy.
6
Attendance Call the attendance hotline if your child will be out or late. Attendance Hotline: (703) Sickness is a great reason to be home. Extended absences- notify principal for approval. Please note that a child will be disenrolled from PNB after 15 consecutive absences.
