2. The creation of the Universe
Supported by observational and experimental data, “The Big Bang” is the widely accepted explanation for how the universe came to exist. According to the big bang, the universe was initially a huge mass that was hot and dense. Then there was the “bang” that eventually created what we see from the galaxies, planets, stars, and etc. The Big Bang was not conceived of till the 20th Century because that was when technology advanced far enough to be able to observe it.

3. أَوَلَمْ يَرَ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا أَنَّ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضَ كَانَتَا رَتْقًا فَفَتَقْنَاهُمَا
21:30 Do not the Unbelievers see that the heavens and the earth were joined together (as one unit of creation), before we clove them asunder?

4. Initial state of the universe
It is also agreed upon by scientists that the early stages of the Big Bang, the hot and dense huge mass was in fact gaseous matter. In other words, huge gaseous matter that looked like clouds were present prior to the formation of these galaxies. What is interesting to note here is that these “huge gaseous clouds” is another name for smoke.

5. ثُمَّ اسْتَوَى إِلَى السَّمَاء وَهِيَ دُخَانٌ فَقَالَ لَهَا وَلِلْأَرْضِ اِئْتِيَا طَوْعًا أَوْ كَرْهًا قَالَتَا أَتَيْنَا طَائِعِينَ
41:11 Moreover He comprehended in His design the sky, and it had been (as) smoke: He said to it and to the earth: "Come ye together, willingly or unwillingly." They said: "We do come (together), in willing obedience."

6. The light of the Moon
It was a common belief in ancient times to say that the Moon had its own light source. Obviously today we laugh at such thought. The light coming from the moon is now known to originally come from sunlight.

7. تَبَارَكَ الَّذِي جَعَلَ فِي السَّمَاء بُرُوجًا وَجَعَلَ فِيهَا سِرَاجًا وَقَمَرًا مُّنِيرًا
25:61 Blessed is He Who made constellations in the skies, and placed therein a Lamp and a Moon giving light;

8. The universe is expanding
In 1925, Astronomer Edwin Hubble observed that galaxies were in fact moving away from one another, which means the universe is expanding. This discovery was so great that Stephen Hawking, the great physicist of our time, in his book “A Brief History of Time” says “The discovery that the universe is expanding was one of the great intellectual revolutions of the 20th Century.”

9. وَالسَّمَاء بَنَيْنَاهَا بِأَيْدٍ وَإِنَّا لَمُوسِعُونَ
51:47 AND IT IS We who have built the universe with [Our creative] power; and, verily, it is We who are steadily expanding it.

10. The common Housefly
يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ ضُرِبَ مَثَلٌ فَاسْتَمِعُوا لَهُ إِنَّ الَّذِينَ تَدْعُونَ مِن دُونِ اللَّهِ لَن يَخْلُقُوا ذُبَابًا وَلَوِ اجْتَمَعُوا لَهُ وَإِن يَسْلُبْهُمُ الذُّبَابُ شَيْئًا لَّا يَسْتَنقِذُوهُ مِنْهُ ضَعُفَ الطَّالِبُ وَالْمَطْلُوبُ
22:73 O mankind! Here is a parable set forth! listen to it! Those on whom, besides Allah, ye call, cannot create (even) a fly, if they all met together for the purpose! and if the fly should snatch away anything from them, they would have no power to release it from the fly. Feeble are those who petition and those whom they petition!

11. Seas and Rivers مَرَجَ الْبَحْرَيْنِ يَلْتَقِيَانِ
55:19 He has given freedom to the two great bodies of water, so that they might meet:
بَيْنَهُمَا بَرْزَخٌ لَّا يَبْغِيَانِ
55:20 [yet] between them is a barrier which they may not transgress.

12. Sense of hearing
It is scientifically known today that the developing fetus begins to hear sounds after the 24th week.
Sight is developed after the 28th week, when the retina becomes sensitive to light.
Thus the sense of hearing develops before the sense of sight.

13. وَجَعَلَ لَكُمُ السَّمْعَ وَالْأَبْصَارَ وَالْأَفْئِدَةَ
And He gave you (the faculties of) hearing and sight and feeling (and understanding):
إِنَّا خَلَقْنَا الْإِنسَانَ مِن نُّطْفَةٍ أَمْشَاجٍ نَّبْتَلِيهِ فَجَعَلْنَاهُ سَمِيعًا بَصِيرًا
76:2 Verily We created Man from a drop of mingled sperm, in order to try him: So We gave him (the gifts), of Hearing and Sight.

14. Pain receptors
It was a very common belief that the sense of feeling and pain developed only in the brain. However, scientific discoveries today have shown us that in fact the skin itself houses pain receptors, meaning that the skin is the sight of pain; it is where pain is felt. When a doctor examines a patient who is suffering from burn injuries, amongst the first thing the doctor does is to test to see how much damage the burns have caused. The doctor tests the patient to see if they feel pain, if they do, then the doctor is happy that the pain receptors are still effective and intact.

15. إِنَّ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ بِآيَاتِنَا سَوْفَ نُصْلِيهِمْ نَارًا كُلَّمَا نَضِجَتْ جُلُودُهُمْ بَدَّلْنَاهُمْ جُلُودًا غَيْرَهَا لِيَذُوقُواْ الْعَذَابَ إِنَّ اللّهَ كَانَ عَزِيزًا حَكِيمًا
4:56 Those who reject our Signs, We shall soon cast into the Fire: as often as their skins are roasted through, We shall change them for fresh skins, that they may taste the penalty: for Allah is Exalted in Power, Wise.

16. La ilaha illa Allah
"In the last three years I became interested in the Qur'aan, which Shaykh Abdul-Majeed Az-Zindani gave me. Last year, I got Professor Keith Moore’s latest script from the shaykh. He asked me to translate it into the Thai language and to give a few lectures to the Muslims in Thailand. I have fulfilled his request. You can see that in the video tape that I have given to the shaykh as a gift. From my studies and from what I have learned throughout this conference, I believe that everything that has been recorded in the Qur'aan 1400 years ago must be the truth, that can be proven by scientific means. Since the Prophet Muhammad could neither read nor write, Muhammad must be a messenger who relayed this truth which was revealed to him as an enlightenment by the One Who is an eligible Creator. This Creator must be Allah, or God. Therefore, I think this is the time to say ‘Laa ilaaha illAllah’, that there is no god to worship except Allah, ‘Muhammad Rasool Allah’, Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah..."
