11 CCU= Coronary Care Unit

12 MI = Myocardial Infarction

13 CPR = CardioPulmonary Resuscitation

14 MVP = Mitral Valve Prolapse One of the more common heart valve conditions. Valve functions improperly.

15 RHD = Rheumatic Heart Disease
Damage to the heart, especially the valves as a result of rheumatic fever. May have inflammation of the myocardium.

AV = Atrioventricular

17 In the upper part of the right atrium, Is a bundle of neurons known as the heart’s natural pacemaker. SA = Sinoatrial (node)

18 ASHD = Arteriosclerotic Heart Disease

A hole between the atria, if not fixed blood will go into the right atria, enlarging the right side of the heart. ASD = Atrial Septal defect

20 CAD = Coronary Artery Disease
Fatty deposits in the arteries, thus narrowing the arteries. CAD = Coronary Artery Disease

21 PFO – Patent foramen ovale
This is a congenital heart defecting caused from the foramen ovale not closing shortly after birth. PFO – Patent foramen ovale
