3 The Carmageddon

4 Purpose The purpose of this device is to show the use of conservation of energy to release a car.

5 Step One Step Two Car rolls down tube into dominoes
Dominoes fall and knock marble off platform

6 Step Three Marble falls into vertical tube and continues down series of tubes towards mouse trap

7 Step Four Marble leaves final tube and activates mouse trap which releases the gate and allows the car to go

8 Energy Conversions Step One: Potential to Kinetic Energy
Step Two: Kinetic to Potential/Kinetic Energy (Also elastic collision) Step Three: Potential to Gravitational Energy (Free Fall) Step Four: Potential to Kinetic Energy with mouse trap and car

9 Conclusion We were successfully able to build a device that uses conservation of energy to perform a simple task. The device is inefficient due to complexity and series of tasks involved in achieving the simple task. But it works yayyy!!!!
