1 Networking and Computing Student Association
Introductory Meeting 2018

2 Objectives To further develop networking, computing, and cybersecurity skills outside the classroom through independent research and weekly seminars.  To supplement the advancement of the network and services of the university and all parts thereof. To pursue outreach and instruction for both local and online communities.

3 Membership Classes Officers – The Executive Board of our organization.

4 Charles Warren – President
Interests: Swimming, gaming, curating Nicolas Cage movies. Relevant Experience: Four years as a Data Center Systems Engineer / Technician for Secant Technologies. Other Roles: Systems Practice Lead, Primary Contact, Presales Architect.

5 Ben Kangas – Vice President
Interests: Running, theatre, sleeping. Relevant Experience: Two years vocational school, BPA state- qualifier in cybersecurity, seven months MTU IT. Other Roles: Networking Practice Lead, Borkboard project manager, and NCSA webmaster.

6 Dalton Kaminga - Secretary
Interests: Gaming, baseball, Netflix. Relevant Experience: Orientation Team Lead, Manager of Little Caesar’s, including some minor IT work at LC. Other Roles: Security Team Technician, Borkboard Project Member.

7 Stuart Hoxie - Treasurer
Interests: Robotics, skiing, cooking. Relevant Experience: TRW/ZF IT & engineering, CyberPatriot, Merit CyberRange, Kali Linux, National Merit Paintball. Other Roles: Security Practice Lead.

8 Thomas J Bilan – Head of Research and Development
Interests: Building computers, playing video games, working on my truck. Relevant Experience: Three years of IT at Total Fleet Solutions and Material Handling Services. Other Roles: System Team Technician.

9 Blake Velderman – Resource Manager
Interests: Playing games, Working on cars, and playing guitar. Relevant Experience: Four years as general IT at a school district. Other Roles: Project manager of Uboonuntu development, Networking Team Technician.

10 Michael Bartholomew – Head of Public Relations
Interests: Pretentiously collects vinyl, whiteboard art, musician, Snake Dad. Relevant Experience: Photo editing, student body representative, lieutenant program assistant. Other Roles: Public Relations Team Lead, Graphic Artist.

11 Dr. Guy Hembroff – RSO Advisor

12 Membership Classes Officers – The Executive Board of our organization.
Full Members – Members who have completed 25 hours of lab time and gone through the approval process. These individuals have unlimited access to our rack and will need to join one of our four teams.

13 NCSA Teams Security Team: Manages auditing, password changes, and works with the Network and Systems Team to ensure our Organization is maintaining secure practices. Systems Team: Maintains our servers both virtual and physical. Is in charge of our monitoring agent and patching. Is responsible for Windows Servers and Features. Networking Team: Maintains the NCSA Network. Manages switchport configurations, IP changes, VLAN Additions, etc… PR Team: Is responsible for arranging sales opportunities with other organizations, NCSA branding, organizing campus events, and fundraiser planning.

14 Membership Classes Officers – The Executive Board of our organization.
Full Members – Members who have completed 25 hours of lab time and gone through the approval process. These individuals have unlimited access to our rack and will be assigned to one of our four teams. Limited Members – Anyone who indicates interest in the organization. They have access to the organization equipment during open lab hours.

15 Full Membership Promotion Process
Full membership requires candidates to complete twenty-five supervised lab hours. Turn in an official request, complete an interview with the Officers. Be approved by at least 4/7 of the Officers at a special meeting.
