Reading Literature /Informational Text, Standard : Cite Strong and Thorough Textual Evidence Open Mind Diagram Please print this slide show, follow the directions, and staple it to your reading response.

Trace Open-Mind First, create an outline of the character’s head. This can be a full or side profile.

3 Use three images that symbolize the character.

4 Brainstorm Around Image
Around each image, use four brainstorm statements that captures the character’s personality and state of mind. Brainstorms must be 3 words or less --ideally, one word)

5 Two Citations Directly cite two examples from the text that clearly represent the character’s attitude and actions. Each example must be at least two sentences in length and parenthetically cited.

6 Criteria Arrange the images, brain- storms, and citations inside the open-mind Citations, Images, and Brainstorms must tie-in Must be multicolored No lined paper Use parenthetical citation Be creative, unique, even unusual

10 Printing Directions On the tool bar, click on “File,” click on “Print.” In the “Print” dialogue box, in the lower left corner under “Print What,” click on the drop down arrow and select “Handouts.” Then, under “Color/Grayscale,” select the best on for your printer. Next, under “Handouts,” click on “Slides per Page,” and choose “9.” Lastly, click on “OK,” and the file will print. Staple Directions to your assignment.
