Final Exam 25 percent Mini Research Paper 25 percent Option to Substitute 2 extra-credit assignments for lowest test (but must take all tests)

6 Course Objectives To provide the student with an understanding and knowledge of the history, institutions, terminology, and issues particular to public transportation policy, planning and management In addition, for those students with career interests in public transportation field, to provide an introduction to employment options and and understanding of the industry in which they might be employed.

7 Definition of Public Transportation
Public transportation includes all multiple-occupancy vehicle services designed to transport passengers on local and regional routes in urban and rural areas including: Public and private buses Commuter, light and heavy rail Ferryboats Intercity Bus (local/regional service) Taxis Vanpools
