3 The PACT Processes for ISD – Phase By Phase Review
3 Levels of ISD in PACT CAD Curriculum Architecture Design – to design/redesign the learning path for critical target audiences, re-use all existing content as appropriate, identify and prioritize gaps and estimate costs to develop/acquire. There are typically 4 Project Steering Team Gate Review Meetings. CAD MCD Modular Curriculum Development – to design/redesign the learning content, re-use all existing content as appropriate. This is the ADDIE-like level of PACT - with 4 Project Steering Team Gate Review Meetings. MCD IAD Instructional Activity Development – to design/redesign the learning content, re-use all existing content as appropriate. This is another ADDIE-like level in PACT - with 4 Project Steering Team Gate Review Meetings. IAD The 3 levels of design in PACT are enabled by both common Project Planning/Management and common Analysis approaches and tools. Guy W. Wallace Pursuing Performance EPPIC Inc

An IAD Effort Builds Components of Instruction Such As Job Aids – Instead of or Before Typical Instructional Products Are Built This was determined as a needed level of Design when in 1987 Guy was asked post-CAD if he could build just the Demonstrations for a client’s National Sales Meeting and then later build the Instructional Content and Job Aids around those Demonstrations. The Process Tasks and Outputs of an IAD effort are the same as for an MCD effort and are most typically used when Instructional components are developed prior to or in parallel with MCD efforts and outputs MCD or IAD efforts might precede a CAD effort The PACT Processes are a Flexible Approach to ISD Guy W.
