Academic Success 1. Write homework in agenda or phone app daily
2. Bring needed materials daily to every class 3. Turn off electronics and put them in the classroom phone holder 4. Make up work quickly after absence (even collect it before hand) 5. Organization is key 6. Ask questions to clarify assignments before leaving class. 7. Turn in all work on time (penalties for late work) 8. Break projects down into manageable chunks 9. Transcripts **Sending transcripts depends on the way a student applies for admission. Electronic Transcripts: Common App is done electronically Many other schools can be done electronically. CFNC Applications can be done electronically. Printed Transcripts: Out of State Schools Sign up in the counseling office and pay $3.00. Student picks up from counseling and mails to school Check for School Report/Counselor Report to give to counselor.

The Recommendation Complete Request for Letter of Recommendation. Make copies for teachers, outside references and counselor. Share where you are applying. Give the teacher or counselor plenty of time. Check for School Report Forms. *

The FAFSA Do Now: Seniors should apply for your FSA ID at Starting In October: File the FAFSA as soon as possible after October 1, 2018 at FAFSA Day- October 27, Sign up at Use 2017 Tax Returns. Use a FAFSA worksheet to help complete the filing process.

Step Six Finalize Your Plans
Remain in contact with the colleges to which you have applied. Consider a second campus visit. Submit your housing application with a deposit prior to the deadline. Register for placement testing. Communicate your final plans to all colleges.

Student Athletes NCAA Eligibility Center
Register with the eligibility center After junior year, have Ms. Wagaman (McCarthy-James until 11/5) send your transcript When taking the ACT or SAT, request test scores to be sent to the eligibility center (the code is "9999"). Complete amateurism questionnaire and sign the final authorization signature online on or after April 1 if you are expecting to enroll in college in the fall semester. Have Ms. Wagaman send a final transcript with proof of graduation to the eligibility center in June. mon/
