DVB-Wireless Home Network

Goal is to enable carriage of DVB services via IEEE
Previously, two profiles based on HIPERLAN/2 and a with suitable extensions were defined but work was suspended
technology is now more suitable due to e (QoS) and h (interference mitigation)
DVB/ETSI will now resume work on home networks

IEEE 1588 over b

IEEE 1588 is a new standard for precise clock synchronization for networked measurement and control systems in the LAN environment
Need to develop a supplement to 1588 for operation over WLAN (future work)
Demonstrated a prototype implementation of IEEE 1588 over b

IEEE Technical Architecture
WNG should recommend a technical architecture SG (study group?)
Maybe we need a Wireless LLC
Not much support from the body, maybe some support for a study group as long as it only lives 6 Months
Security for Management Frames Discussion
A new Study Group to look at the issue of securing management frames will meet for the first time in San Antonio in November
reviewing current proposed PAR for further discussion in San Antonio ( r0)
