4 The purpose of the trumpet cycle is to warn the world through judgment and call people to repent
All are drawn from the plagues of Egypt in Exodus The first four trumpets affect man's environment; the last three, also called woes will directly affect people

5 5th Trumpet/ 1st Woe Torment!

6 “The star was given a key to the shaft of the Abyss”
The star - Satan Luke 10: The seventy-two returned with joy and said, “Lord, even the demons submit to us in your name.” 18 He replied, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven. 19 I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you.

the Abyss - means bottomless pit; hell Revelation 20:1-3 1 And I saw an angel coming down out of heaven, having the key to the Abyss and holding in his hand a great chain. 2 He seized the dragon, that ancient serpent, who is the devil, or Satan, and bound him for a thousand years. 3 He threw him into the Abyss, and locked and sealed it over him, to keep him from deceiving the nations anymore until the thousand years were ended…

the Abyss - means bottomless pit; hell Indicates hell before the final judgment Afterwards, hell is called ‘the lake of fire’

Satan receives power to open the abyss and to let the demons out unleashing demonic activity- satanic influence and operations

10 Symbolism of locusts Devour and swarm These are demons! Locusts given power As a trumpet- a warning for repentance Told to harm people not sealed of God Torture and agony 5 months (partial torment, the number of grace)

11 Their description: horses -instruments of warfare crowns -they act like they are the victors human faces -intelligent women’s hair -seductive nature lion’s teeth -crush their victims breastplates of iron –strong and hard sounds and their sting -torment to man

12 Abaddon/Apollyon- ‘The Destroyer’
Their leader: Abaddon/Apollyon- ‘The Destroyer’

13 6th Trumpet/ 2nd Woe - Death
This is war! These are not ordinary horses. They clearly symbolize war machinery of every description; bringing death and causing destruction on every side They kill one third of mankind

14 1 Peter 5:8-9 8 Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. 9 Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that your brothers throughout the world are undergoing the same kind of sufferings.
