2 To Kill a Mockingbird Reading Check #1 – Write a 1 paragraph summary over chapter 14 #2 – Write a 1 paragraph summary over chapter 15 #3 – Write a 1 paragraph summary over chapter 16 #4 – Write a 1 paragraph summary over chapter 17 You may use your book to refresh your memory, however, you will only have 10 minutes to write this summary.

3 To Kill a Mockingbird Chapters 14 – 17 Discussion Chapter 14 What does this chapter reveal to us about Scout’s point of view? What is she learning about herself, her family, and her community? What is she struggling to understand? What parts of the story might the reader understand better than Scout? How does this dramatic irony affect the experience of reading the novel?

4 To Kill a Mockingbird Chapters 14 – 17 Discussion Chapter 15 When Link questions Atticus’s judgment for defending Tom Robinson, Atticus replies: “Link, that boy might go to the chair, but he’s not going till the truth’s told And you know what the truth is.” What is the truth? How might the reader understand this situation better than Scout?
